I’m re-reading the book Divided By Faith and once again, it is wrecking my paradigm of race and the local church. I first read this book a few years ago in seminary and it was one of the more life-changing, convicting, eye-opening experiences I’ve had. The things I learned didn’t leave me, I’ve just struggled in figuring out how to get a good grasp on this subject and how to effectively move toward change in my 5-year-old, 98% white congregation. I’m re-reading the book, along with two others in our church, as we formulate a plan on what to do with the issues the book brings up.
More posts to come on this book and subject. For now, if you’re looking to have some paradigms wrecked, especially if you’re a white church-going Christian, pick up the book and read along with me, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
